Titration Reagents

Titration reagents are used to determine the concentration of a substance in solution. The reagent is prepared in a known concentration and volume (often called a standard solution). It is then slowly added to the solution in question until it changes color or precipitates (depending on the substance being tested). This color change may occur with or without an indication depending on the parameter. When testing for dissolved oxygen by titration, the test is known as the Winkler method.
