The Extech 407355-KIT-5 incorporates five 407355 noise dosimeters that are designed to measure total sound exposure over an 8-hour period of time with data logging capabilities. The 407355 dosimeter is popular for performing OSHA and IEC noise accumulation surveys as well as more simple applications like personal or workplace accumulated noise exposure tests. The unit allows for several adjustments based on the application, such as the criterion level, exchange rate, and the threshold. Before and after using this dosimeter, it's recommended to perform calibration checks with either the 407744 or 407766 sound level calibrators.
The main feature of the 407355 is its data logging with PC interface capability. It can log up 4500dB readings when used as a sound level meter. As a dosimeter, it can store up to 5 surveys. These surveys would include start/stop time, %Dose, TWA, and peak flags. For connection to a PC, simply use either the RS-232 cable or optional USB cable (USB100). The software is perfect for controlling setup and retrieving stored events or analyzing real-time measurements.
