What's the difference between 30ft, 100ft and 250ft water level loggers?
The 30, 100 and 250 foot range designates the maximum depth that the Rugged TROLL 100 logger can be used at. The 30 ft logger can be submersed up to 30 feet, and the 250 ft logger can be submersed up to 250 feet. The range also affects the accuracy of the logger. The 30 ft logger will be more accurate than the 100 ft logger, which is more accurate than the 250 ft logger. The greater the range, the less accurate the Rugged TROLL 100 will be.

Groundwater typically makes up more than 30 percent of California’s annual water usage, according to the state’s Department of Water Resources. But during times like the current prolonged drought, groundwater becomes more important, meeting 46 percent of the state’s annual needs. With the rising dependence on groundwater in dry times, scientists have begun looking for ways to fill up depleted aquifers and keep flush those still filled with water. The goals have led to new approaches, like one coming out of a research project led by scientists at the Universities of California, Davis and Merced, that looked at structures somewhat overlooked in times of low water levels: flood levees. The study took place along the Cosumnes River, the last major undammed river in California.

In-Situ donates water level tapes to help Ebola care facilities in Sierra Leone

Sierra Leone is struggling against one of the worst Ebola outbreaks in history, according to a release from In-Situ Inc . One of the things that care facilities there struggle with is meeting the water needs of people suffering from the disease. To help with that effort, In-Situ Inc . has donated 11 groundwater level monitoring devices to the country’s Ministry of Water Resources. These include water level dip tapes that join with Rugged TROLL 100 Water Level Loggers Sierra Leone already has. The ministry plans to use the devices to protect groundwater resources around Ebola care facilities from waste, as well as track water levels to better understand groundwater recharge.
