The Laser Technology TruPulse 200B rangefinder offers +/- 30 cm (1 ft)  distance accuracy and +/- 0.25° inclination accuracy for typical targets.  With a maximum range of 1000 m (3280 ft) for non-reflective targets and 2000 m (6560 ft) if reflective, the TruPulse 200 maintains accuracy with target mode options of closest (choosing nearest target), farthest (choosing furthest target even through brush), continuous (constant updates on multiple targets) and filter (reducing sensitivity to foliage and brush). In addition, it provides 7x scope magnification and in-scope data display.

The integrated tilt sensor provides accurate calculations of horizontal distance, vertical distance, height and 2D missing line. Designed for all day use, this rangefinder can run for 8 hours on 2 AA batteries or 1 CRV3 battery and is small enough to fit in a jacket pocket (5 x 2 x 3.5 in), while the eyepiece is adjustable for comfort, even when wearing glasses or sunglasses.

Scientists have had nagging questions about how ocean acidification might be affecting the waters of the San Francisco Bay. But if you can't trust BOB and MARI with your research questions, who can you trust? That's BOB, the Bay Ocean Buoy and MARI, BOB's companion mooring for Marine Acidification Research Inquiry, of course. BOB and MARI are a bright yellow, five-foot tall buoy and its companion mooring, respectively. They are anchored near the Estuary and Ocean Science (EOS) Center of San Francisco State University (SFSU). SFSU researchers are collaborating with scientists from the University of California, Davis and other funders and partner organizations on the first long-term project to monitor carbon dioxide and ocean acidity in the San Francisco Bay.
