Details

Maretron's TMP100 measures the temperature for up to 6 temperature probes and reports the information over an NMEA 2000 network. The TMP100 supports up to 4 thermistor probes and 2 high temperature thermocouple probes. Optional thermistor probes (-20 deg. C to 80 deg. C or -4 deg. F to 176 deg. F) cover a wide range of applications including cabin air temperature, engine room air temperature, refrigerator/freezer temperature, under bolt temperature (inverters, charges, pumps, motors, etc), tank temperatures (live well bait, hot water, etc) and air duct temperatures. The optimal thermocouple probes (0 deg. C to 900 deg. C or 32 deg. F to 1652 deg. F) are used to measure Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) as part of a comprehensive fuel management system.

The Maretron TMP100 has the following features.

• NMEA 2000® Interface

• Waterproof Connectors

• Sealed Waterproof Enclosure

• Opto-Isolated from NMEA 2000® Eliminating Potential Ground Loops

• Six External Temperature Probes are Measured and Broadcast Over NMEA 2000®Network

• Four Channels for Thermistor Probes and 2 Channels for High Temperature Thermocouple Probes

• Wide Variety of Applications Supported with Optional Temperature Probes - Cabin Temperature - Engine Room Temperature - Under Bolt Temperature (Inverters, Chargers, Pumps, etc.) - Refrigerator/Freezer Temperature - Tank Temperatures (Live Well Bait, Hot Water, etc.) - Air Duct Temperature - Exhaust Gas Temperature - User Defined Temperature Types (#129-#144)

Researchers Track Glacial Meltwater On Its Surprising Journey

While the scientific community has formed its consensus on how ice sheets are shrinking in and around Greenland, some researchers are tracking what happens to the meltwater as it drains into the ocean each summer. Their study, published in Nature Geoscience by an interdisciplinary team of biologists, oceanographers and hydrologists, used computer models to simulate the meltwater to see where currents take it and what effect it could have on the ocean. Renato Castelao, one of the researchers and an associate professor of marine science for the University of Georgia, said one of the biggest discoveries of the study was the surprising final destinations of the ice sheets as they melt into the ocean each summer.

Ice Fishing With A SondeCAM Underwater Fishing Camera

Thinking of hitting the ice with a SondeCAM underwater fishing camera? Due to its rugged design, you won't have to worry about it handling the harsh elements. However there are a few simple tricks to get the most out of a FishSens SondeCAM while ice fishing. You won't have to do anything to modify the SondeCAM itself, but you are going to have to bring a few extra things. Most importantly we are going to need a power source. Unless you are hauling your gear with a truck, you'll want something more portable than the battery you used in the boat. Pick up an inexpensive and maintenance-free 12-volt, 9-amp battery. It is going to provide plenty of power, but will be much lighter and take up less space.

Size Them Up With A SondeCAM Underwater Fishing Camera

We've all felt the frustration of weeding through a school of dinks to catch a "keeper." Often the small fish outnumber the bigger ones and they are typically more aggressive. Sometimes there's no choice but to deal with it, as is often the case with open water fishing. However a frozen lake involves a vertical presentation and a stable platform, it's a perfect situation to pick and choose which fish you want. Once you locate a school and get set up it's time to start sizing them up with a FishSens SondeCAM underwater fishing camera. It can be mind-blowing just how big some of these schools of fish are and also how outnumbered fish of a desirable size can be.
