Riptide Terrova 80/CP Trolling Motor w/Bluetooth - 24V-80lb-54"

ALL IN ONE.
Power? Try up to 112 pounds of thrust. Control? You can equip it with wireless GPS remotes, and stow it effortlessly with the new Lift-Assist mechanism. And stealth? It's a Riptide - enough said. The most talked about motor in saltwater just got better. Any more questions?

Lift-Assist
A new Lift-Assist mechanism on the redesigned Riptide Terrova carries the weight of the motor for you to make stowing easier - so you can save your strength to reel in the big ones.
Redesigned Stow/Deploy Lever
Riptide Terrova's Stow/Deploy lever has been redesigned to allow for one-step stow or deploy - making it even easier to use. Just push down with your hand or foot when you're ready to move.
Quieter Steering Motor
Updated Riptide Terrova has a completely new motor design - engineered to run quieter than ever before. So fish won't be spooked, but you might be.
i-Pilot or i-Pilot Link w/New Phone App - Select Models Only
Boat positioning becomes automatic with the redesigned, GPS-powered i-Pilot or i-Pilot Link system. i-Pilot lets you set Spot-Locks, record paths, control speed and steering, and more. Link does all that plus the ability to control your motor from your Humminbird, follow depth contours, and automatically navigate to your favorite spots. Both systems feature reinvented Spot-Lock - the most accurate electronic GPS anchor ever - and have redesigned remotes with larger screens, more options, and Bluetooth technology, so you can connect to your smartphone for quick control of basic functions and easy software updates.
CoPilot
The CoPilot wireless remote comes standard on Riptide Terrova to give you push-button control of speed, steering, AutoPilot and high speed bypass. It's total wireless control from anywhere on the boat.

Additional Features:
  • Stow/Deploy Lever
  • Digital Maximizer
  • AutoPilot (select models)
  • Push-to-Test Battery Meter
  • Indestructible Composite Shaft

Lake Superior Weather Buoy Provides Valuable New Data

A new weather buoy in a remote part of Lake Superior is providing much-needed weather data to local mariners, the National Weather Service and researchers. Scientists from the Superior Watershed Partnership (SWP), Lentic Environmental Services (LES) and the University of Colorado-Boulder recently deployed the buoy on the lake one mile north of Stannard Rock Lighthouse. SWP gained ownership of the lighthouse in 2015. Because the light was built on a large reef in a remote part of the lake, it is one of the most popular trout fishing and charter boat destinations on the Great Lakes. It has also been the location of a NOAA weather station since 1984 and a Great Lakes Evaporation Network monitoring site since 2008.

Nonprofit kick-starts water data gathering in Nepal Valley

For the first time, citizens of the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal have free access to local water data. The data is the result of a water quality monitoring pilot project started by the California-based nonprofit SmartPhones4Water (S4W). SmartPhones4Water, an idea developed by Ph.D. student Jeff Davids and the late Dr. Peter-Jules van Overloop from Delft University of Technology (Netherlands), was started in California in 2014. The goal of the organization is to leverage smartphone technology to gather water data in countries where such data is scarce. The method is simple: a network of local citizens use their smartphones to capture and upload the data to an online server and database.
