Talon Anchor

We've lowered the anchor, raised the bar and silenced the competition. The Talons are completely redesigned with a motor that's 30% more powerful, 30% quieter, and 100% guaranteed to be the last shallow water anchor you'll ever need.

Game On. Gloves Off.
No shallow water anchor makes a statement like Talon. Our unprecedented models feature bold color options, and they give fish nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.
30% More Power
Anchor anywhere, and retract any time. The Talon gives you all the power you need for any situation.
30% Less Noise
Speak softly and carry a 12-foot stick. This motor is 30% quieter, so fish can't hear Talon coming.

Put your boat on Lockdown and put fish on notice.
The faster you lock into your spot, the sooner you can get your line back in the water. That's why we built a shallow water anchor that deploys quicker, holds stronger and runs quieter. Then we made it better. These Talons anchor deeper, run smarter and feature innovations that no other anchor can touch.

SPEED
Talon deploys quickly and automatically so you can get your line in the water faster
  • Fast Deploy
Head-to-head, our spike deploys faster than the competition, so you can get into position quickly.
  • Multi-Stage Deployment

Quick, quiet, sequential vertical deployment lets Talon anchor faster and deeper without interfering with your lines. These models deploy in three stages, giving you additional anchoring depth without increasing the height of Talon.

POWER
With user-selectable anchoring modes, you can choose the right amount of force for each situation, guaranteeing a secure hold and easy anchor retraction.
  • 2x Anchoring Force
Talon is built with double the force of the competition to lock you into your spot with unparalleled strength and security.
  • Built-In Wave Absorption

Talon allows your boat to move up or down without affecting the anchor. It uses a built-in floating suspension to keep you locked to the bottom, even in rough water conditions.

STEALTH
Even with an arsenal of innovative features, Talon is designed to run quiet so it won't spook fish.
  • Simple Design
Built with minimal moving parts and no hinge points, Talon starts quiet and stays quiet.
  • Noise Dissipation

The innovative design keeps Talon silent below the water, so fish can't hear it coming.

EASY INSTALLATION
Talon is easier and less costly to install, maintain and control.
  • Innovative Design
Talon's space-saving, lightweight design makes it as easy to install as a trolling motor, with no messy, complicated hydraulic pumps or hoses.
  • Versatile Adjustments

A Quick Release Bracket enables Talon to adjust up and down, pivot up to 30° to fit any transom, or be easily removed when not in use.

Standard Wireless Remotes
Two wireless remotes come standard to give you push-button control of Talon from anywhere on the boat. Includes dash mount holder.
Rugged Anchoring Spike
Guaranteed for Life!
Our composite spike can withstand years of abuse with unmatched reliability.
Durable Construction
Talon is built with legendary Minn Kota® toughness and reliability, and is designed to fully combat the corrosive effects of saltwater.
LED Depth Indicator
Track anchor depth at a glance. The LED lights on Talon show you how far down you're deployed, with each light indicating two feet of depth.
Deployment Notification Alarm
This audible alert tells you if you start the engine while the anchor is down.
Five-Year Warranty,/B>
Talon carries a five-year limited warranty - plus a lifetime warranty on the spike and a five-year warranty on all brackets.

Arsenic in Drinking Water: A Tale of Public and Private Water Sources, and Regulation

In recent months, a maelstrom of change has been rippling through many federal agencies, particularly those tasked with regulations connected to environmental science . Naturally, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is no exception, and may be one of the agencies seeing the most change . The idea in play appears to be the deregulation is going to achieve better outcomes for America and for citizens. However, recent research on arsenic in drinking water suggests otherwise, providing a crystalline example of how vitally important the work and regulations of the EPA really are.

Imperial County Residents Help Tackle Air Monitoring

Residents from Imperial County, California are benefitting from a new air quality monitoring network of low-cost environmental sensors that provide real-time pollution data. The county is subject to many air pollution sources such as field burning, unpaved roads, several industrial facilities and its close proximity to the Salton Sea. The City of El Centro, California, which is located in the county, has the fifth-worst air quality in the United States, according to a study by the American Lung Association. While there are several different types of air pollution, particulate matter (PM) is a main concern in Imperial County. PM is a mixture of extremely small particles and liquid droplets that get into the air.

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality's Water Quality Division

With an average rainfall of only 12.5 inches per year and a population that's growing faster than the country's , Arizona is a state that faces unique challenges, especially when it comes to clean, safe water. The Water Quality Division of the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) protects and enhances public health and the environment by monitoring and regulating drinking water. And although they make use of the latest scientific methods and new technology, given the current state of Arizona's water system, they also rely upon low-tech equipment and cooperation from members of the community to monitor water quality in the state. Team members in the Groundwater Protection Program work to sample, test and characterize groundwater quality in all 51 of Arizona’s basins.
