Ulterra™ 80/US2 - 24V-80lb-60" with i-Pilot

Never Touch Your Motor Again - Unless You Wanna High-Five It

With Auto Stow/Deploy and Power Trim, we won't blame you for getting excited about the Ulterra™. Especially once you realize it comes with your choice of i-Pilot or i-Pilot Link, a redesigned foot pedal and Universal Sonar 2. Now Minn Kota is just showing off.

Features:

Auto Stow & Deploy
Auto Stow/Deploy lets you get your motor in and out of the water automatically using the included i-Pilot or i-Pilot Link remote, or the redesigned foot pedal.

Power Trim
Once your motor's in the water, Power Trim lets you easily adjust the motor depth for changing conditions, using the included i-Pilot or i-Pilot Link remote, or the redesigned foot pedal. It's one more way Ulterra handles the busy work, so you can focus on fishing.

Ulterra Foot Pedal
The buttons let you stow, deploy, trim up/down and activate a Spot-Lock in addition to speed and steering controls. Includes 18' cord. Ulterra comes standard with a new foot pedal and your choice of i-Pilot or i-Pilot Link - all redesigned to enable Auto Stow/Deploy and Power Trim. Control those features with the new "mode" button on the Ulterra foot pedal or with i-Pilot and i-Pilot Link remotes. We've also added Spot-Lock to the pedal, making it even easier to stand your ground.

Ulterra i-Pilot Link
Link lets Ulterra and your Humminbird talk to each other, and lets you control Ulterra from the Link remote or your Humminbird. It's got everything i-Pilot has, plus the ability to follow depth contours, retrace your tracks, and return to productive waypoints and paths. New menus on your Ulterra i-Pilot Link remote let you stow and deploy your motor, as well as trim it up and down.

Ulterra i-Pilot
Advanced wireless remote uses GPS to remember fishing spots and paths, and can control speed, steering, cruise control and Advanced AutoPilot. And exclusively on i-Pilot for Ulterra, three new buttons let you stow and deploy your motor, or trim it up and down.

Digital Maximizer™
Motors with Digital Maximizer provide up to five times longer run time on a single charge by drawing only as much power as you need, so they don't waste any energy. These motors are variable speed, so dial in your precise speed and let Digital Maximizer deliver the right amount of power, while conserving your battery - extending your time on the water.

Weedless Wedge 2 Prop
Push weeds away and take on the thick stuff without battery-draining chopping and hacking. Weedless Wedge™ 2 features swept-back, flared blades for unrelenting, reliable prop performance.

Advantage Minn Kota
Indestructible Composite Shaft: Pound for pound, our composite shaft is stronger than steel. It flexes on impact and won't break, kink or corrode. That's why we're confident enough to guarantee it for life. If we could guarantee it for longer than a lifetime, we would.

Cool, Quiet, Power: Nothing runs cooler or more quietly than a Minn Kota. Our extra large windings and commutators dissipate heat, resulting in cooler operation, extended battery power, and longer motor life. And our unique bearing system reduces friction to cut fish-spooking noise. So quiet, they'll never hear you coming.

2-Year Warranty
This motor is backed up with Minn Kota's 2-year warranty.

Researchers Find Link Between Climate Change and Gastrointestinal Illnesses

An understanding of climate change’s effects on the environment has become commonplace and grows every day, but one researcher from Florida State University is looking to answer a new question: What are climate change’s effects on people’s health? In one of the first studies of its kind, Chris Uejio, an assistant professor at FSU, and a team of researchers studied how climate change can affect the roughly 20 million Americans (according to the Environmental Protection Agency) who consume untreated drinking water on a daily basis. Because climate forecasts are predicting higher rainfall rates over the next few decades, coming down in intense storms, Uejio said those flashes could cause flare-ups in waterborne illnesses.

Data Buoys Infographic

We put together this infographic on data buoys for our Spring 2017 edition of the Environmental Monitor ( PDF available online ). Organizations across the globe use data buoy systems to observe and monitor atmospheric and oceanographic conditions in remote locations. Measurements range from air pressure, humidity, wind speed and direction to wave height, water temperature, dissolved oxygen and other water quality parameters. With the help of national and international networks, reliable and comprehensive data sets are made available for research and public safety.
