By on August 16, 2010

To meet the demand for low-cost, accurate, real-time weather data, NexSens Technology has introduced weatherVIC, a complete PC-based weather station that provides a powerful yet easy-to-use system that requires minimal assembly and no programming. In just a few simple steps, users have a fully functioning weather station with real-time weather data on their PC.

By offering a full set of advanced sensors in one compact, light-weight instrument housing, the Vaisala WXT520 reduces cost and simplifies setup, without sacrificing data quality. The multi-parameter unit uses Vaisala’s proven sensor technology to measure the six most essential weather parameters: wind speed and direction, liquid precipitation, barometric pressure, temperature, and relative humidity. With NexSens weatherVIC software, the WXT520 is ready for plug-and-play monitoring right out of the box.

NexSens weatherVIC SoftwareweatherVIC software, a data collection and analysis tool designed by NexSens for the Vaisala WXT520, eliminates the complicated programming typical of other environmental software. Simply plug the WXT520 into a PC communication port and AC power supply, and weatherVIC will automatically detect and program the instrument.

Users will immediately begin seeing real-time data readings. Sensor attributes, such as log intervals, interrogation schedules, and units of measurement, are easily changed through easy-to-navigate dialog boxes and graphical menus. Current weather conditions can be viewed from the control panel, or from one of three graphical panel views with virtual data display.

With weatherVIC’s unique report module, custom reports are quickly generated. Users can easily sort, analyze, and present data using graphs, data tables, and statistical summaries. When creating reports, users can include specific information about the monitoring site, sensors, and project along with recorded measurements. Graphs are easily customized by changing color schemes, trace thickness, and x and y-axis scales. When completed, reports can be converted to PDF, exported to Microsoft Excel, or sent to a printer with the single click of a button.
