Details
It is important to add ISA to all standards and samples when using Ion Selective Electrode WQSensors. By bringing the ionic strength of all samples and standards to a similar level, the effect of variable ionic strengths on the activity, and hence the measured concentration, is overcome.
Always add ISA to samples and standards to ensure that they have a similar ionic strength. Use a 1:50 ratio for adding ISA to samples or standards. This reduces the margin of error associated with ionic strength variations. ISA is added to standards following dilution and its volume is not considered in the dilution. This is because it is also added to the samples, so that both the samples and standards are equally diluted by the ISA.
