The ATM-891 topside communication modem is capable of transmitting up to 2400 baud bi-directional MFSK and receiving 15360 bps. The ATM-891 topside modem and ATM-880 modem module serve as the surface components of the bi-directional acoustic communication system. These surface modems, configured with a remote dunking transducer, transmit commands/data to, and receive commands /data from, the sub sea acoustic modem(s) located on a seafloor instrumentation package or AUV.
The ATM-891 is housed in a standard deck box that is ideal for boats, dockside applications, and other real time environments. The unit operates with AC/DC power and includes a speaker, serial port, and transducer cable connector - all in a splash proof case.
