The ATM-891 topside modem and ATM-880 modem module serve as the surface components of the bi-directional acoustic communication system. These surface modems, configured with a remote dunking transducer, transmit commands/data to, and receive commands /data from, the sub sea acoustic modem(s) located on a seafloor instrumentation package or AUV. There is a coax for Free wave RF Radio. The ATM-880 is housed in a NEMA enclosure and is ideal for buoy or remote deployment applications. There is space for RF radio modem. The unit operates with DC power and includes a serial port.
