Details:
The Benthos 875 Shallow Water Acoustic Release has been designed for shallow water, light load applications. The release is used with moored instrument arrays where reliability and ease of deployment are critical factors. The Model 875 is a cost effective way to acoustically recover your subsea packages.
Compatible with the entire line of Benthos acoustic command units, the model 875 is an ideal supplement to your coastal experiment tool kit. The release is capable of supporting and releasing 400 pounds (180 kg) and a 1000 foot (305 meter) depth rating. The operating life is 6 months with standard units.
The release features an external on/off/rearm switch for quick reset and deployment. Opening the case between short-term deployments or tests is not necessary. At sea turnarounds typically take less than 20 minutes including battery replacement. The design incorporates a fiberglass strongback with top and bottom shackle points for conventional in-line moorings. The fiberglass strongback also allows customers the flexibility to mount the 875 into frames and other non-conventional mooring configurations. The 875 only weighs 9.5 lbs (4.3 kg) in air, and 2.7 lbs (1.2 kg) in water. For use with Benthos Deck Units DS-8750, DS-7000 or DS-8000.
