The radio comes with an external speaker so that you can place the sound where it's needed most. A full 150 W (PEP) of output power is available for reliable long distance communication. A large cooling fan allows continuous transmission at full output power - even during demanding RTTY (radio teletype) and NBDP (narrow band direct printing) operation. The radio has the capability of operating in all modes. The radio has 160 programmable channels, each identified by alpha characters, channel number or frequency.
Built out of a metal chassis, the M802 is a very rugged and durable unit. Another quality of the M802 is its usability. It has direct keypad entry as well as large tactile knobs that are easy to use in rough boating conditions.
New automatic antenna tuner AT-140 matches the transceiver to a long wire antenna. The GPS interface port, can be use to turn your M802 into a long-range GMDSS emergency service radio.
