The Argonaut-XR offers exceptional value for near shore deployments in less than 40 m of water. Designed specifically for mounting on the bottom of a river, channel, or harbor, the XR features a special mode that automatically adjusts one of its measurement cells for changing water level. Its small size, rugged build, and flexible system architecture make the XR attractive for both real-time operation and autonomous deployments. The basic autonomous system includes a Multi-Cell (current profiling) feature, an external battery pack, internal recorder, compass/tilt sensor, pressure sensor, and temperature sensor. Additional options such as a non-directional wave package, an external LCD data display, a SeaBird MicroCAT CT sensor, or a YSI multi-parameter water quality probe make the XR the centerpiece of a complete oceanographic or hydrologic data collection system.

3-D acoustic Doppler current meter with programmable, dynamic (Auto-Tide) sample volume along with Multi-Cell (10) current profiling, integrated compass/2-axis tilt, and temperature sensors, and 4-MB data storage in low-profile (15 cm) Delrin pressure case (200-m max. depth) with base mounting plate. Software bundle includes ViewArgonaut (Windows Vista/XP/2K) software for data acquisition and analysis, as well as SonUtils PocketPC/Windows CE utility software for PDAs. Also includes RS232/SDI-12 interface, tool kit, and power supply.
