Details: The YSI 556 Multi-Parameter System combines the versatility of an easy-to-use, easy-to-read handheld unit with all the functionality of a multi-parameter system. Featuring an IP-67 waterproof, impact-resistant case, the instrument simultaneously measures numerous water quality parameters including temperature, conductivity, salinity, dissolved oxygen, pH, and ORP. It replaces numerous bulky meters and test kits with one rugged handheld system.
The instrument's 1.5 MB memory stores more than 49,000 time and date stamped data sets, and an RS-232 interface enables direct data upload to a PC. Data can be easily processed and analyzed with the free EcoWatch for Windows software. A simple cellular phone style keypad and large, backlit digital display make the instrument easy to operate.
The YSI 556 MPS assists the user in conforming to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards which help ensure that quality control/quality assurance methods are followed. Battery life is displayed with a fuel gauge, and the user can choose standard alkaline batteries or an optional rechargeable battery pack. 4 C-cell alkaline batteries provide approximately 180 hours of continuous operation.
