While El Niño tends to spring up due to a random wind change in the tropical Pacific, La Niña often follows on El Niño’s heels, cooling the tropical Pacific Ocean, causing drought conditions across the southern tier of the US. How long drought will persist due to La Niña is an important question for every community that suffers from extremely dry conditions.

Achieving Buy-in: The Importance of Community Involvement in Water Challenges

It's a fact that every resident of every state has a vested interest in water quality issues and the management of natural resources. However, too often the challenges posed by natural resource management are met by various battling groups of stakeholders with apparently different interests.
