An earthquake emanating from outside of Los Angeles shook much of Southern California early Monday morning, Reuters reported.
The magnitude 4.4 quake hit just before 6:30 a.m. on March 17, and was initially identified as a 4.7 by the USGS. No damages or injuries were reported, though the quake did prompt 106 fire stations to dispatch crews into local neighborhoods to assess infrastructure.
Tremors were felt across a wide region, as far south as Orange County and as far east as Palmdale.
