Using the new Solinst Levelogger App Interface, environmental professionals can now use a smartphone to check water level readings in the field. No laptop required.<\/p>\n
The device, launched by the company in May, is made of the rugged composite material Delrin and has an IP64 rating. It runs on AA batteries, which support 500 full downloads. To use the App Interface, users first connect to Solinst Leveloggers via a direct-read cable. A green indicator light flashes to let them know when it can be discovered by Apple \u00a0iOS devices.<\/p>\n
After pairing through Bluetooth for the first time, \u201cyour iOS smart device remembers the previous pairing,” said Randy Blackburn, product manager at Solinst Canada Ltd. “So turning on the App Interface with the Solinst Levelogger App already opened will automatically show the connected Levelogger on top of the list, ready for your commands,\u201d<\/p>\n
The Solinst Levelogger App is available for free in the Apple App Store and shows information on connected loggers, like battery level, serial number and location. All major programming options available in the Levelogger PC software are also available through the Solinst Levelogger App. Up to 10\u00a0program methods can be stored, allowing projects using multiple loggers to be standardized.<\/p>\n
From mobile devices, users can start or stop logging, check real-time readings or view collected data in graphs or tables. \u201cYou can then email data files back to your office, right from the field,\u201d said Blackburn. \u201cThat\u2019s the best part.\u201d<\/p>\n
Blackburn says the device and accompanying Solinst Levelogger App has a lot of appeal because of its speed, efficiency and convenience. The whole setup fits easily into a pocket.<\/p>\n
With the popularity of the iOS application, the company plans to release an Android-compatible version of the app in the future.<\/p>\n
