Grundfos Pumps: The Redi-Flo2 Series

By on August 16, 2010

The Redi-Flo2 electrical submersible pump, from Grundfos Pumps Corporation, is ideal for groundwater sampling or aquifer tests. These units provide high flow rates for purging and low flow rates for sampling when used with the Redi-Flo VFD (Variable Frequency Drive), and they are fully capable of meeting the requirements of EPA-approved low flow sampling. With a simple push of a button, the VFD controls flow rates from 9 gal/min to as little as 100mL/min. Control valves are eliminated by using this portable VFD.

The high-power Redi-Flo2 pumps provide smooth, uninterrupted water flow to depths of 280′. A unique design and superior materials allow for easy operation, decontamination, and maintenance as well as disassembly and re-assembly.

Fondriest offers these research-caliber pumps with Geotech Reel-Based Systems. The system includes the Redi-Flo2 pump, motor lead, safety cable, and additional hardware required for lowering and lifting the pump and are available with a variety of portable reel and tubing options.

Tubing is available in Teflon, Teflon-lined Polyethylene, Polyethylene, bonded motor lead & braided PVC, Additionally, the Redi-Flo2 is made from chemically inert materials for maximum sample integrity and easy decontamination. A 1.8″ pump diameter allows for easy access into 2″ wells.

Although the Redi-Flo2 was designed to stay cool by the action of the water passing rapidly over the body of the stainless steel and Teflon pump, the unit may overheat in larger wells. This can cause permanent damage to the pump. Geotech has designed a cooling shroud specifically designed for use with the Redi-Flo2 in wells 4″ in diameter or larger, when overheating could potentially be an issue.

The pump shroud can help users avoid damage to their pump and them protect their investment.

We use the Grundfos Redi-Flo2 pump to sample 2″ groundwater wells.

Our main supplier has said that Grundfos released a notice that Grundfos have seized all manufacturing of the RediFlo2 Pump.

Does Fondriest have any Impellar Kits or Teflon rings kits used on the Redi-Flo2 pump?

Hi Trudy, thanks for your comment. Fondriest doesn’t have those items in stock. We recommend contacting Geotech Environmental (http://geotechenv.com/) because they might have them available.
