SXBlue III dual-frequency RTK GPS fits in your palm

By on December 2, 2010

The newly-released SXBlue III GPS is an extremely compact, dual-frequency RTK GPS receiver, ideal for high-accuracy GIS data collection. It weighs slightly more than one pound (517g) and fits comfortably in the palm of a hand. Equally small is its patch GPS antenna, at only 5.5 centimeters wide and weighing a mere 80 grams.

The SXBlue III GPS uses innovative technology to provide 51 channels of proven one-centimeter RTK performance in this tiny package, which includes a field-replaceable, nine-hour Li-Ion battery.

In addition to RTK, the SXBlue also offers L1 SBAS for sub-meter mapping. Having the choice of using either L1/L2 RTK for real-time down-to-the-centimeter accuracy or L1 SBAS for 60 centimeter real-time mapping provides flexibility that no other unit of this size and price can offer.

The SXBlue product line’s bulletproof Bluetooth technology allows users to connect with a wide variety of smart phones, PDAs, tablet computers, and laptops. The SXBlue III GPS incorporates a long-range Class 1 Bluetooth transceiver capable of communicating at distances greater than 250 meters.

As with the entire SXBlue product line, the SXBlue III GPS is built to work in the toughest environments. It is designed to meet the stringent IP-67 environmental rating, meaning it’s rugged, waterproof, and will survive accidental immersion into water at 30-centimeter depths for up to 30 minutes.

The SXBlue III is targeted at GPS/GIS mapping and surveying professionals in industries such as forestry, utility, government, agriculture, and other natural resources industries.
