The eighth annual Michigan Clean Water Corps Conference will be held on Oct. 29-30 in the Michigan Department of Natural Resources’ Ralph A. MacMullan Conference Center in Roscommon, Mich., according to a Michigan DNR release.

The event will convene volunteer monitoring participants, citizen scientists and water quality professionals from across the state who assist the Michigan DNR in collecting and sharing data.

The theme of this year’s conference is monitoring human impacts on Michigan’s watershed.

A pair of free training workshops will be held for attendees. One will focus on insect identification, while the second will detail plants near Michigan’s lakes and streams.

There will also be an information session on possible new monitoring parameters the Michigan Clean Water Corps will measure in lakes and streams.
