Interface Meters

Interface meters measure depth to water/oil/hydrocarbon and layer thickness in monitoring wells and tanks. They can be used for determining amounts of floating non-aqueous liquids (LNAPL) and sinking non-aqueous liquids (DNAPL) in the well. These meters emit a continuous alarm when sensing hydrocarbons and can determine layers as thin as 1mm. Interface meters detect liquid with an infared sensor and prism/window to detect refraction and then determine if the substance is water or hydrocarbon through conductivity. Several of these meters are certified intrinsically safe for use in hazardous areas or where there might be combustible gases present in a well.
